so...

I allowed my subscription lapse due to being too busy and having much less time to play on DA. Not much to say really other than I hope everyone is having a more relaxing festive period than me. Things were in a lull just before the holidays but they picked up on the 26th and the roller coaster ride looks to be likely to last a while. Noice. ;)

So Madaboochoo is your work place. I saw them advertise the position, just realised I wasn't the right type to apply. But good to see you are enjoying it.

I'm in rant overload at the moment with Halloween. Which means less stress on everyones behalf.

congratulations on a number of fronts :)

Becuase I have problems with Halloween, so I tend to go off at people who celebrate it. Even when they claim to do it for the Irish origins it still irks me, since it becomes a seasonal problem. I honestly would rather people celebrate Day of the Dead instead.

Mate, I'm a pagan through and through and while I do not celebrate it for the same reasons as those in the northern hemisphere, it's also my wedding anniversary so old whisky and horror flicks are in. =) I see where you are coming from, as I rant like a branded animal when Christmas comes around and is force fed to those of us who reject all of that religion's stolen traditions. Here, while northern hemisphere pagans can rightfully celebrate Samhain, we have Beltane, also known as: Mayday(northern hemisphere), Shenn da Boaldyn, Bealtinne, Beltine, Beltain, Beal-tine, Beltan, Bel-tien, Beltein, Bealtuinn and Bealtaine

The Land represented by the Goddess is now ripe and fertile and the Young God expresses His Love for Her. This is a time of joyous reveling as the first flowers of Summer are gathered in Their Honor.

Due to our close ties to media led by the northern hemsiphere we have never put our roots down in Australia properly to celebrate openly the seasonal changes that suit where we live. Hell, my wife and I live here in the skin cancer capital of the world and we're both dead keen to move eventually to the UK or Canada so we can be in sync with our traditions.

But, we're here and the wheel is turned, the rising sun calls to you to go 'get some'. =)

Come May 1st we can enjoy Samhain properly, our day of the dead, our call to winter and the death of the sun.

That is one of the things I really like about you. You aren't one of the "trendy" pagans. Plus for the simple sake of your wedding anniversary you get a gold star, especially for the whisky celebration.

Maybe one day I'll figure out something that may speak true for me.

well it was back in.... about 1987 that I told my family there'd be no more of me being sent to church and no, trend had nothing to do with it. In 1993 I met a group who for two years guided me through a series of lessons that put me firmly where I am now, one boot still into the science and the other barefoot in the soil speaking to the earth. These days I have come to open my mind more to the 'other side' and have found more like souls here who are on similar journeys so we throw theories and energy at each other in our search for answers and enlightenment.

To the casual observer we'd probably appear like the white lighter crowds but... Andrew's joke of us being 'Angry Buddhists" probably covers it far better. When wrong doing does piss us off we do tend to take action.

.... *sigh* wifey went to sleep before midnight and I'm back on the H2O as I work in the morning.... lol

My leaving of the church probably didn't occur until early 90's. Was more following mothers wishes up to that point. My brothers always hated it because I got out of it at a younger age, and only had to suffer through communion and not confirmation. A growing interest in mythology was a dangerous thing for me, which is what stopped any nothing of me following the Roman Catholic way. Now days I either go with no belief or go say I follow the Norse gods, or believe in a balance like most fantasy books have for gods.

Luckily for me to the casual obeserver I'm just normal.

Your wife is probably doing the smart thing. Sleep always sounds good at this time.
