I shot this pic as I was surprised to see the magpie and the crow sitting so close without having a fight.
I was even more surprised to find hundreds of messages in my account one morning thanks to Chris Weeks selecting this shot for a Daily Deviation. Thanks Chris!

Daily Deviation

Given 2005-09-15

we're not together by =elffinarts Crows piss me off. There is a small murder of them that congregates next to my house. The caw-caw-caw in the morning and wake my vampire-like ass up too early. That being said, as much as I hate these rats with wings ... i love the juxtaposition of this photo and the composition! So damn well done! This deviant had no "goth" in the photo ... Wow! (Featured by `cweeks)

Nice use of focus :) I'm guess thats this famouse "aperture" at play here yes? (currently stying this form form of photography) Nicely done and like the framing too :)

yep, f2.8 again.
worked on this shot but for the other shot up close to the crow, it didnt work as well. I'd expected him to fly off but he didnt. So the f2.8 in the other shot makes his beak a bit soft.

i like the barbed wire... it gives the feel that the 2 types of birds are enemies... or at least severely separated. NICE!!!

to me, crows and barbed wire are symbols of decay and something morbid, so this is just perfect! :clap:
