The time has come to open the way for applications of interest to photographers and videographers interested in medieval imagery and willing to work in a disciplined and tight knit team. There are only ten places open for photographers besides myself as the coordinator and with Steve Lippis aka :icongrekonos: as my 2IC. Last year I had a team of twenty and only half of them bothered to follow directions or to supply images as per the contract. Despite this I managed to supply the non-profit museum with 37,000 images from the last two years to kick off their digital image library.

I was having them mailed in hard copy to the Abbey Museum but now we're running out of time so contact me directly as soon as you can.

The terms and conditions of entry have been written by a trusted fellow photographer with the rights of photographers in mind. You do get to retain your copyright and while licensing promotional and library use of your images to the museum and festival, you wont lose publishing rights of your own. What does joining this team gain you? It gets you free admission to the best seats (ok- sometimes it's a patch of grass or mud) in the house to some of the finest medieval re-enactment in the world. It gets you up close and personal with some of the worlds highest ranked jousters and finest medieval swordsmen/women. It gets you into the safety marshal areas so that you can shoot the tournaments from under the ropes instead of from 5 feet behind them (ie: no gaudy flags between you and the knights as they fight unless you position yourself to capture that).

If you're fit enough to lug your gear around for two days getting shots of some of the most interesting performance and sport on show in Australia then it's worth considering joining the team.
